In Lockdown... locked out
I looked for months outside my bedroom window and it always was around 5 30pm where I saw mothers , fathers sometimes both rushing through the alley way with their sprugs by their side. I mean, who goes through a narrow , dimly lit alleys . These people certainly did , slightly jogging to get to their destination . So one day I grabbed my son, 11 yrs at the time and I said “let’s go “ , he was confused and asked me “ but where” I said - “ I don’t know” I felt I was joining or going to be part of a secret revolution . So off we went , down this alley way, clutching my sons hand, gaining strength from him . “What kind of mother am I ? “‘ crossed my mind a few times . But I suppose I was never conventional . I suddenly came across to a tall black door where everyone was entering which suddenly shut as I was about to go in. I remember holding my sons hand even tighter and pushed the slightly sticky door open with my son in front of me like a shield. I was suddenly confronted by a gush of sweaty air which was quite overwhelming , but was raw and exciting . This is when I knew that I had found - home. Covid 19 has taken away my home.
